Australian football season in disarray as COVID-19 forces more games to be postponed
The A-Leagues have once again been rocked by positive COVID-19 cases and forced to postpone games.
A number of Melbourne City FC's women players have tested positive to the virus, and their match against the Newcastle Jets scheduled for January 2 has been postponed indefinitely.
In the men's competition, the New Year's Day game between Western Sydney Wanderers and Western United has been postponed due to ongoing positive COVID-19 cases in United's football department.

The Wanderers have now had two games in a row postponed.
The A-Leagues have now been forced to postpone 10 games this season, but insist the full schedule can be completed in the allotted timeframe, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
The competitions plan to play through the international breaks in January and March to ensure the season is completed.
"The other option we have is the current 26 games per team could be reduced down to 22 if needed without affecting the integrity of the competition," Australian Professional Leagues chief Danny Townsend told Keep Up this week.
