Winless Adelaide United feel turnaround coming on

Adelaide United defender Ben Garuccio concedes the players are as worried as their coach about their winless A-League title defence but says they insist they can feel a win coming.

Sunday's shock 2-1 loss to Central Coast marked the Reds' fourth straight loss and leaves them rock bottom and winless since last season's grand final.

The second-half collapse prompted coach Guillermo Amor to admit he's concerned about his team's lack of reaction.

"As he said, it's not normal in football to lose three or four matches in a row," Garuccio said.

"There's got to be a point where we do turn the corner. If you look at the team and the way we've been playing for the most part people can definitely see it coming - we can feel it coming.

"It's just about actually doing it on the weekend. We haven't so far so we need to do that this week."

"We're just a little bit low on confidence at the moment and if we had have maybe gone 2-0 up or 3-0 up (against the Mariners) it would have been a completely different game."

The Reds have a quick turnaround before hosting pacesetters Brisbane on Friday night in what shapes as a far tougher test than that posed by the Mariners.

Garuccio's fellow defender Michael Marrone meanwhile says he's only two to three weeks from a welcome return from a ruptured Achilles suffered during the grand final.

"It's a little bit earlier than expected but it's never easy," Marrone said.

"It's been like seven months now and I don't like watching games at the best of times, so when the team's not doing well it's harder."
