Football trick play draws eyes to wrong side of field

When done right, deception can be an art form. Just ask the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.

Playing an NCAA football playoff match against rivals North Dakota State, the young men from the south turned on a trick play so good it had the eyes of viewers heading in the entirely wrong direction in a play which brings back memories of the NRL's Parramatta Eels and the ''wall'' play they used during Jack Gibson era.

Brady Mengarelli was the beneficiary of a play which started with orchestrated confusion before the real masterpiece takes place.

The eyes of viewers, and the defence, is drawn to the movement to the right as Mengarelli bides his time before darting to the left and in for a touchdown.

The masterfully performed play seemed to spring the opposition into action with North Dakota State running out 36-10 winners.
