Fitzgibbons, Merrin announce engagement

Aussie surfer Sally Fitzgibbons has announced her engagement to NRL star boyfriend Trent Merrin.
Fitzgibbons, 24, took to Instagram to show off her new ring as the couple kissed on a beach.

She included a simple caption of "Yes", accompanied by a ring and loveheart emoji, in a post liked more than 13,000 times since it was uploaded last night.
Panthers forward Merrin, 26, also posted a photo of his new fiancee.
The sporting pair have been together for 18 months.
