They may be a united force when it comes to an emergency, but New York's police and firemen proved it's a different story when it comes to sport.
A bench-clearing brawl broke out during an annual charity ice-hockey match between the departments on Sunday.
The clash, which was caught on video by fans, quickly escalated after referees failed to control multiple one-on-one fights, the New York Post reports.

The incident caused a 25-minute delay to the game and despite multiple black eyes and bruises, none of the players was seriously injured.
New York's Police Department ended up with bragging rights, winning 8-5 when the game resumed.
