Firebirds coach to join Aussie staff

Australia have appointed dual tran-Tasman championship winning coach Roselee Jencke to the Diamonds' coaching staff in the build-up to the 2019 netball World Cup.

Jencke, who has led the Queensland Firebirds to back-to-back titles, will work alongside head coach Lisa Alexander as a defensive specialist.

She'll continue on as Firebirds coach after re-signing with the club until 2018 and will join the Diamonds outside of the national netball league season.

Alexander says adding Jencke to her staff is a big plus as the Diamonds aim to defend their World Cup title in England in three years' time.

"She is a winning championship coach and her loyalty and integrity in terms of supporting the national program has been aligned and consistent since the beginning of my term as national coach," Alexander said.
