MMA fighter cops more punches after mistakenly walking back to her corner

MMA is probably one of the fastest growing sports in the world, but it scenes like this that give it a black eye.

US Mixed Martial Arts fighter Calie Cutler was so dazed during a recent bout against Alexa Connors she took more of a pounding than she should’ve.

Cutler mistakenly thought she heard the bell to walk back to her corner but in fact it was the 10 second warning bell that sounds extremely similar.

As the bell sounds, Cutler who’d been taking a beating throughout the fight, starts walking back to her corner.

Connors realises her opponent had made a mistake so she decided to capitalise on the faux pas with a flurry of punches.

She even checked with the referee that the fight was still on before landing more punches on Cutler.
