Ex-Syd-Hob winner punished over paperwork
Last year's Sydney to Hobart line-honours winner has been hit with a hefty time punishment for embarrassingly failing to hand in paperwork on time.
Race officials say fourth-placed InfoTrack, who in 2016 was first over the line as Perpetual LOYAL, didn't lodge a declaration form within a six-hour window after the race.
InfoTrack was on Friday issued with a 20 per cent time penalty which means the supermaxi could drop to around 25th in line honours.
Final positions won't be confirmed until all boats reach Hobart.
The basic form confirms yachts have followed sailing rules.
It comes after LDV Comanche was awarded 2017 line honours when Wild Oats XI was penalised an hour over a near-collision between the pair during the race's infancy on Boxing Day.
