Ex-athletics boss faces corruption charges

Former world athletics chief Lamine Diack is facing corruption charges in France, according to Parisian legal circles on Monday.
Investigating judges ordered lawsuits against the 86-year-old Senegalese Diack and his son Papa Massata Diack, which can be challenged in court, meaning they are not certain to face trial.
Athletics governing body IAAF was plunged into crisis in 2015 when Lamine Diack's 16-year reign ended and French authorities opened their investigation into allegations of bribery and money laundering.

Interpol issued a red notice for Papa Massata Diack as an internationally wanted person in 2016 at France's request.
The IAAF has been led by Briton Sebastian Coe since he replaced Diack in 2015.
