Emma Freedman to depart Nine and Wide World of Sports
Emma Freedman has paid tribute to the Nine network after deciding to move on and pursue another opportunity with Fox Sports.
Freedman hosted the popular Sports Sunday program in 2017 where she took the rein on some of sport's biggest personalities, including Peter FitzSimons, Liz Ellis, and 9News sports reporter Neil Breen, to discuss the burning issues of the week.
"My time at Nine has been wonderful, but now is the right moment in my career to take on new opportunities," Freedman said.
"I want to thank all the terrific people I have worked with at Nine and Wide World of Sports, including Tom Malone who is a great supporter and mentor.
"I'll always appreciate all of his invaluable guidance and friendship."

Malone, Nine’s Director of Sport, wished Freedman all the best for the future.
"Emma has been a terrific part of the Wide World of Sports team for the past two years, as we evolved Sports Sunday to be Australia’s Number 1 opinion-based sports show," he said.
"We wish her all the best with her future endeavours and look forward to catching up on the sidelines!"
An announcement on the new host of Sports Sunday for 2018 will be made in the future.
