Ellyse Perry marries Brumbies star Matt Toomua

Dual international Ellyse Perry has married Super Rugby star Matt Toomua.

The couple reportedly wed at an intimate ceremony in Sydney on the weekend, but waiting until Tuesday to go public with their news.

Regarded as one of Australian sport's glamour couples, they made the announcement via Instagram.

Perry, who plays cricket and football for Australia, had been engaged to Toomua for 16 months.

When they first met, Toomua was apparently too nervous to approach her, so asked on the ACT Brumbies media manager to intervene and ask for a photo for the club's Twitter account.

Perry is the current captain of the Sydney Sixers in the women's Big Bash League, but is facing an uncertain future after committing to join her husband overseas.

Toomua will play a last season with the Brumbies in 2016 before joining England rugby giants Leicester Tigers.
