Electric motorbike makes historical ride

Electric motorbikes have been in competition for a while now, but never in Supercross.

That all changed at the Red Bull Straight Rhythm straight-line Supercross race in the US.

The historical ride was made on an Alta motors electrical motorbike by former Yamaha rider Josh Hill.

It marked the first time an electric motorcycle competed in a professional Supercroos race.

Hill, on the yellow bike, showed his class by winning his quarter final against a bike running on petrol and claimed fourth spot in the semi final, ultimately missing out on a podium finish.

After the run, reps from Alta said they will be competing in flat track, motocross, and supermoto events whenever they can.

Even if the motorbike isn’t fit for racing, surely its enviro friendly motor will have greenies lining up to score one of these babies.
