Laker's Russell high fives himself

DeAngelo Russell had a rough rookie season last year in the NBA and it doesn’t like his teammates are ready to move on yet.

After he recorded a prank video of teammate Nick Young bragging about cheating on his fiancée, Australian performer Iggy Azalea, which eventually was leaked, it was obvious that there was a lot of venom for Russell inside the Lakers locker room.

And it doesn’t look like that tension has abated much over the summer.

During yesterday’s preseason game against Denver, Russell attempted to high-five Julius Randle and Nick Young. Neither of them paid him any attention but that didn’t worry Russell.

The point guard minimised the embarrassment by jovially high fiving himself while running down the court with his teammates.

Considering the reaction, it might be sometime and plenty of on-court success before Russell can expect a high five coming his way.
