Cyclist smashes bike in two during race

A cyclist’s temper tantrum has gone viral after he smashed the bike he was riding in two.

New York-based Jeremy Santucci went bananas after a crash cost him during qualifying for the Red Hook Criterium in Milan, which sees riders compete with brakeless fixed gear bikes often leading to crashes during the races.

Santucci was leading the pack with the finish in sight, when he fell victim to a pile up after another rider ran into a wall.

Footage from the finish line shows the cyclist pick up the bike with one hand and then slamming it into the ground.

Once the bike hits the ground it splits in two and Santucci starts arguing with an official.

What’s worse is that the bike wasn’t even his. His friend loaned it to him because his bike was in the shop.

In a video uploaded to YouTube before he attempted qualification, Santucci was asked about the bike.

“It’s my homie  Sergio’s … who’s like family, he was nice enough to lend me this beautiful machine”.

Following the race, Santucci had time to calm down and took to Facebook.

“When your heart rate is above 190 and you train all year for finals and get crashed out ... there are a lot of feelings running through you....”
