Ulissi wins stage, Gerrans stays in front

Diego Ulissi won the second stage of the Tour Down Under (AAP)
Italian rider Diego Ulissi has won the second stage of the Tour Down Under ahead of race leader Simon Gerrans and Tour de France winner Cadel Evans.
Ulissi shut out the Australian pair as he completed the thrilling 150km Prospect to Stirling stage of the six-stage race.

With second place, Gerrans will extend his lead and maintain the ochre jersey heading into tomorrow's 145km Norwood to Campbelltown stage.
Australian Will Clarke collected maximum points in the King of the Mountain race allowing him to draw level with leader Adam Hansen. Both riders are on 20 points.
