Kittel takes out People's Choice Classic

Marcel Kittel of Team Giant-Shimano has taken out the People's Choice Classic at the Tour Down Under, narrowly beating Andre Greipel and 19-year-old Australian Caleb Ewan in a thrilling finish.

Kittel finished with a time of 1:04:34 for the 50km race that showcased more than 140 of the world's best cyclists ahead of the six-stage Tour Down Under which starts on Tuesday.

Kittel, who came from four wheels down, beat Greipel by just half a wheel.
