Britain's success in track cycling at the Olympics is "very questionable", Germany's women's keirin world champion Kristina Vogel says.

"They were cannon fodder when you look at the last few years. Now they come along with a (high) level," Vogel said on Monday after reaching the sprint quarter-finals in Rio de Janeiro.

"No idea if they haven't trained for three years. I don't want to accuse anyone of anything but it is all very questionable."

The British team has won four gold medals and two silvers in six events at the Games so far.

In the last two Olympics, Britain won a record seven gold medals in cycling.
