Edmondson holds equal-fifth in cycling

Australian Annette Edmondson is equal fifth as British cycling star Laura Trott dominates the women's Olympic omnium.

After finishing second in the scratch race, Trott won the individual pursuit and elimination events to be on 118 points halfway through.

She is eight points clear of second-placed Belgian Jolien D'Hoore.

Edmondson is one of three riders on 90.

Trott has already made history in Rio, with the British team pursuit win making her the first British woman to have three Olympic gold medals.

Trott also won the omnium at the London Olympics, where Edmondson claimed the bronze medal.
