Lions' Raina pulls off 'catch of the year' in IPL

Gujarat Lions' Suresh Raina has snared the 'catch of the year' after dismissing Suryakumar Yadav with a scarcely believable grab in the Indian Premier League.

Indian ODI specialist Raina was waiting in the slips when Lions' bowler Dwayne Smith speared a delivery into the body of Yadav.

Cramped for space, Yadav ingeniously tried to guide the ball high over the cordon.

But Yadav failed to factor in the pure athleticism of his compatriot Raina who launched himself into the stratosphere to take an absolute screamer.

Raina dove off one foot and, calling on all of his flexibility and reflexes, stuck out one hand to pull in the instant classic.

The speed and brilliance off the catch was so spectacular it even caught the commentators off guard.

"Gone! Brilliant! Who was that?" one announcer excitedly asked.

Raina's moment of magic helped the Lions crush the Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets.
