'Really proud moment': Beau Webster called into Australian squad as 'cover' for Mitchell Marsh

Tasmanian all-rounder Beau Webster is inching closer towards a Test debut.
As first reported by The Sydney Morning Herald, selectors will bring the 30-year-old into the Australian squad ahead of next week's clash against India in Adelaide.
The news has since been confirmed by Cricket Australia as chief selector George Bailey weighs up changes for the second Test.

Webster's inclusion comes as Mitchell Marsh battles with soreness after the series opener in Perth, but the reigning Allan Border Medallist is still expected to play.

Webster has been in red-hot form at Sheffield Shield level, topping the run-scoring charts last season and helping the Tigers pick up their first win of the year this week.
In a clash with NSW at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Webster finished with scores of 61 and 49, as well as contributing with ball in hand by taking five wickets for the match.
Tasmania defeated the Blues by 55 runs on their home turf as Webster took the final wicket of Jackson Bird in the final session of day four.

Speaking to media on Thursday, Webster acknowledged his role as "cover" for the XI but is still keen to get amongst the group.
"To get the call from Bails (George Bailey) at the end of the NSW game was a really proud moment and I can't wait to get stuck in," he said.
"There's a tight turnaround between the Adelaide and Gabba Test so I think just to have some cover there for that middle-order role, whichever way they go."
Josh Inglis will also remain in the wider squad as the back-up batter but selectors are likely to stick with the same team that was embarrassed by the visitors in Perth.
