Former Australian Test opener Justin Langer believes teen phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi could be as good as Donald Bradman.

Suryavanshi, 15, on Wednesday morning (AEST) belted a thrilling 93 off just 38 balls, including 10 sixes and seven boundaries, to lead the Rajasthan Royals to a seven-wicket win over Langer's Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.

Speaking after the match, Langer warned bowlers still hadn't seen the best of the 15-year-old.

"I've seen some amazing players in my 35 years of cricket, but to see a young man bat like that - not just tonight but throughout the series - is breathtaking," he said per CricInfo.

"So whilst as an ex-batter, knowing how hard batting is, I think, 'What is going on here?' The bowlers are thinking, 'What on earth is going on here?'

"It's quite incredible actually to be able to play that way … sometimes when players play like that, there's high risk to it, and yet he's doing it in every form of the game and scoring a lot of runs, and ultimately that's what the game is about.

"And the scary thing is, the best way to learn how to make runs is to make runs, not by hitting some big sixes, and he makes runs over and over and over again.

" ... My gosh, he's so young. He's a brilliant, brilliant player and it's a real privilege to watch him bat actually."

It was then Langer made the incredible Bradman statement.

"People say to me, 'would Bradman have made so many runs in the days where they could wear helmets' or blah blah blah, and I'd say, 'well, he would adapt'," Langer explained.

"And Suryavanshi's that good. Wherever he plays, he's going to adapt his game because where are they going to bowl to him? I don't see where are they going to bowl to him.

"So he'll adapt, he'll keep getting better and better, which is scary for world cricket."

Suryavanshi took his time before charging against the pace. He scored only five from his first 10 balls, but the youngster showed extravagant power-hitting to belt 88 from the next 28 balls.

Fast bowler Akash Singh (1-54) conceded four boundaries against Jaiswal (43) in his 23-run first over as Suryavanshi took the back seat and let the stand-in captain score the bulk of the runs in the power play.

Singh dismissed Jaiswal in his second over, but then Suryavanshi upped the ante by smashing two sixes and three fours in Singh's ninth over of the innings.

Suryavanshi raised the tally of his sixes to 53 this season and needs seven more big hits to break Chris Gayle's 14-year-old IPL record of 59 sixes. Suryavanshi could have been run-out in the 90s but Mohsin Khan was unable to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end from close range before the fast bowler had the youngster caught at long-on in the 14th over.

Dhruv Jurel made sure Rajasthan scored at a rapid pace and remained unbeaten on 53 off 38 balls, achieving the target with five balls to spare.

Suryavanshi said he had been pacing himself throughout the innings, and hadn't been reading the hype being built up around him.

"I always knew I could hit anytime and didn't want to rush at all," he said.

"I don't read papers and all, I just think this is the start and if I have a long career, then a lot of things will be said. I just want to focus on my game."

Rajasthan cruised to 225-3 in 19.1 overs for seven-wicket win, which keeps his side in the hunt for the last spot in the finals.

Earlier, Aussie T20 skipper Mitchell Marsh (96) missed out on his own ton as his century first-wicket stand with his countryman Josh Inglis (60) carried Lucknow to 5-220.

Rajasthan overtook Punjab Kings at No.4 on the points table behind three teams that have already qualified for the playoffs: Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
