Haddin takes screamer, moves into top 10

Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has moved into the list of the top ten Test keepers of all time overnight, capping off the achievement with a spectacular catch.

The 36-year-old showed age is no boundary, diving off-balance to his right for a one-handed screamer to remove South Africa's Dean Elgar after he edged a ball off Australian paceman James Pattinson.

Earlier Haddin had taken a straightforward catch to dismiss South African captain Graeme Smith, moving his dismissal tally to 229 and landing him in the top ten of all time Test wicketkeepers.

He joins fellow Australians Adam Gilchrist (416), Ian Healy (395) and Rod Marsh (355) on the top dismissals list.

Haddin has endured a rollercoaster Test career since becoming the first-choice keeper following Gilchrist's retirement in 2005, repeatedly dropped in favour of up-and-coming players before being reinstated again.

But the New South Welshman has been a star with the bat in recent years, solidifying his place in the team with standout performances in the past two Ashes series including scoring the most runs by an Australian keeper in a Test series during Australia's 5-nil rout of England over summer.
