Batsman sparks controversy with 'psych out' tactic

An English batsman has caused controversy after executing a risky ‘psych out’ manoeuvre against Pakistan in the ICC Academy Dubai International T20.

The batsman stunned onlookers when he began to wildly swing his bat around his body during the run up of the bowler before jumping to the side of the crease to scoop the ball away to the deep wicket boundary.

Since released by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the vision has sparked debate over the legality of such flagrant tactics in professional competition.

However, considering the heavy intimidation batsman endure from fielders and bowlers perhaps this is a small win for the man at the crease.
