David Warner survives being bowled thanks to huge no-ball from Indian bowler Yadav

Australia was hoping this might be the lucky break they needed to get their Test tour of India off to a winning start.

Powerful opener David Warner bowled by Indian spinner Jayant Yadav shortly before lunch on day one in Pune only to be saved by Yadav’s inability to keep a part of his front foot behind the popping crease.

Even for a pace bowler this was a no-ball by quite a distance – for a spinner it is unforgivable.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was anything but impressed and who can blame him. His team had just lost the chance to dismiss one of the tourists’ key figures.

Oh, and to make matter worse, the ball ran away to the boundary after clipping leg stump for a final tally of five from the delivery.

Warner was later bowled by Umesh Yadav for 38, ending an 82 run opening stand with Matt Renshaw.
