Pat Cummins stays neutral in Justin Langer contract saga
tAustralian Test captain Pat Cummins declined to get drawn into a discussion about the contract future of Justin Langer, playing it straight when asked about his coach's expiring tenure.
Earlier this week, Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley reiterated that a decision on Langer's future - including the possibility of separate coaches for different formats of the game - would have to wait until after the Ashes.
Langer's current contract expires mid-2022 but there's been speculation he may walk away once the Australian summer ends.
Cummins played it straight when asked about the situation after winning the third Test against England.

"I think we'll savour this victory today and continue for the Ashes, and I don't think today is the day to speculate on that," he said.
"I think we'll sit down all together after this series, or whenever his tenure is up and his contract is up for renewal, in a few months we'll visit that then."

Langer said last week that he was hopeful his stay at the helm would be extended.
"I have never thought differently, to be honest. I have been consistent with what I have said for the last four years. I love my job," Langer said.
"The boys are playing well, no doubt about it, it's a great team to be involved in. So nothing has changed from my point of view."
