The Cox Plate is Australia's premier weight for age race and widely regarded as the No.2 event on the spring racing calendar behind the Melbourne Cup.

And it didn't disappoint this year with popular trainer Chris Waller and jockey Hugh Bowman snaring their first victory as Sydney mare Winx claimed a run-away win in the group one race.

As usual, the big day drew a plethora of beauties and big names to Moonee Valley with plenty of dazzle trackside to match the thoroughbreds on course.

Among those shining in the sun was Jessie Habermann, the partner of Carlton footballer Marc Murphy, who lit up the Fashons in the Field with a touch of colour. (Pics: AAP and Getty)
