'He should have paid his taxes and stayed retired': McGregor taunts Mayweather over tax bill

Considering he is the number one ranked highest paid athlete on the planet you’d be forgiven thinking money was the last of Floyd Mayweather’s concerns.

Mayweather has asked US authorities for more time to pay his 2015 tax bill, the year of his money-spinning mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao, filings showed Monday.

Mayweather, who is coming out of retirment to fight UFC star Conor McGregor next month, has requested he be allowed to settle his 2015 taxes after he is paid for his August 26 bout.

It didn’t take long for news to reach McGregor who was seen walking through Beverly Hills, California when he was approached by gossip website TMZ.

“The Notorious” was asked what he made of Floyd’s tax problems and the Irish MMA fighter responded with no sympathy for his opponent.

“I don’t give a f--k what he did. I don’t give a f--k. I don’t care what he done.

He should've stayed retired. He’s f--ked now,” McGregor said.

“That’s the god’s honest truth.

He should have paid his taxes and stayed retired. And kept my name out of his f---ing mouth.”

It’s also being reported that the pay-per-view price for the fight is expected to be around US $100.

When asked whether the price was a bit too expensive McGregor said it wasn’t pricey enough.

“It should be $120.”
