UFC 229: Conor Mcgregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov receive first suspensions from Nevada Athletic Commission

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov have both received a 10-day suspension from the Nevada Athletic Comission(NSAC) for their actions at UFC 229.

The NSAC handed down their initial ruling on Friday with the suspensions to come of effect from October 15.

According to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani those sentences could be extended as the organisation conducts it’s investigation into the ugly all-in brawl that marred Nurmagomedov’s devastating fourth round victory over the Irishman.

The commission will vote at a hearing on October 24 to decide whether McGregor and Nurmagomedov will be suspended indefinitely.

The NSAC is also withholding the Russians $2 million pay check for his historic victory due to his actions which sparked the wild brawl at T-Mobile Arena.

On Friday morning Nurmagomedov took to Instagram to air his frustrations at the NSAC.

"Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people?

"They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?"

McGregor is currently serving a one month ban on medical grounds but his manager, Audie Attar expressed confidence over the investigation into his charge.

“It will be clear who and where the blame lies,” Attar said in a statement.

“We are focused on the future.”

McGregor has already been paid for his appearance at UFC 229.
