Competition is underway at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games with badminton, gymnastics and lawn bowls the first sports to start.
The first medal event on Thursday is the women's triathlon, which begins at 9.30am (AEST) with Australia's Ashleigh Gentle a contender for gold.
The triathlon is one of 19 gold medal events to be contested on Thursday including seven finals in the swimming.
