Gabriel Omar Diaz will take home the IBO Intercontinental Light Heavyweight title regardless of whether or not he defeats Paulo Aokuso in Saturday night's Battle on the Reef main event.

Aokuso failed to make weight for the fight after coming in more than one kilogram over his prescribed weight during Friday's weigh-in.

He was given two hours to get down to his fighting weight but conceded that would not be possible and was not weighed again.

Due to missing weight, he will give up part of his purse to Diaz - an undisclosed sum agreed upon by both parties.

Aokuso was stony-faced throughout the ordeal while Diaz cheekily flexed his biceps and tried to scare his Australian-Samoan rival in the face-to-face photo opportunity.

Officials confer while Paulo Aokuso is weighed a day out from the IBO title fight.
