College coach has unexpected slip

At first glance this video can be deceiving.

Ohio State basketball coach Thad Matta was laying into his team during a recent match against Maryland.

Matta was trying to get his point across when he called a time-out and started raising his voice and pointing his finger.

As he was addressing the huddle, Matta was totally caught up on trying to sell his message to the team when the chewing gum in his mouth falls out as he was talking.

Not too troubled by the loose gum, Matta dealt with the situation like a pro grabbing the piece of chewy as it left his mouth with his right hand and throwing it back into his mouth without breaking character.

The coach’s message mustn’t have resonated with the team that much … with the Buckeyes going down to Maryland 77-71.
