Tears of joy as child gets hero's autograph

There’s excited, there’s over the moon and then there’s this kids reaction to getting an autograph from his favourite baseball player.

All children have heroes. Luckily for those who adore sportspeople they sometimes get the chance to meet them.

A chance to meet Los Angeles Angels star centre fielder Mike Trout proved too much for this fan over the weekend.

The youngster was struggling to retain composure when Trout – a perennial All-Star – was signing his baseball, but once he got back to the adult he was with it all became too much.

Trout’s Angels were playing in Detroit, meaning this was a rare chance for this kid to get the prized signature.

Hopefully that ball gets put in a plastic box and the young fan treasures it for the rest of his life.
