Strongman Cheick 'Iron Biby' Sanou lifted an incredible 229kg log to claim a new world record.

Sanou achieved the feat while competing in the log press at the World's Strongest Man World Tour Finals in Glasgow.

At 1.88m tall and 204kg Sanou followed his world record with a celebration just as impressive - a cartwheel across the stage.

The 29-year-old man mountain from Burkina Faso beat the record previously set by Lithuanian Žydrūnas Savickas, who lifted 228kg in 2005.

Nicknamed 'Biby' in his youth and then adopting 'Iron Biby' once he took up weightlifting, Sanou also holds the Guinness World Record for most overhead presses in one minute.
