Camerawoman gets bowled over, but claims money shot

When it comes to filming sport, becoming part of the action is an occupational hazard for photographers and camera operators.

But US TV camera woman Kate Lee showed nothing can put her off getting the money shot – even the prospect of being mowed down by two footballers.

Lee was positioned on the sideline for a recent Virginia state playoff game between Oscar Smith and Thomas Dale high schools when rival players battled for possession only metres away after a long throw from a quarterback.

With the receiver being tackled by two players and hustled toward her, Lee had two choices – to abandon her post or hold her nerve and hope for the best.

Bravely, she chose the latter and kept filming to give viewers of WAVYTV some compelling footage, but in the process was bowled over by the trio in a heavy collision.
