Briton Yarnold defends skeleton title

Lizzy Yarnold became the first Briton to successfully defend a Winter Olympic title when she claimed the skeleton gold, with team-mate Laura Deas taking bronze to complete the country's greatest day in the Winter Games.

Sochi 2014 champion Yarnold trailed leader Janine Flock of Austria entering the fourth and final run, where she overhauled the deficit to win by 0.45 seconds.

Deas' third place meant Britain won two medals in the same event for the first time in Winter Olympics history.

Australia's Olympic debutant Jackie Narracott finished in 16th place.

An emotional Yarnold said: "I guess four years ago, three years ago the whole team all dared to dream that this was possible and I just went with all them (and) we managed it."

It is the first time Britiain have won three Winter Olympic medals in the same day, overtaking the record two from Chamonix in 1924.
