Jeff Horn splits heavy bag in training session ahead of bout against Anthony Mundine

Jeff Horn's camp attempted to send a warning shot to Anthony Mundine ahead of their November 30 bout in Brisbane.

Horn was filmed during a training session splitting a heavy bag after delivering a flurry of punches. 

The 80kg bag appeared to have been cut, due to the heavy duty tape seen around it, but Horn ensured there was no saving the damaged training equipment.

Whether or not it was a deliberately staged stunt to promote the River City Rumble is unclear, but the surprised reaction of his training partners at the Stretton Gym suggests it wasn't. 

I’ve never seen someone actually destroy a punching bag like that," Horn's trainer Glenn Rushton told News Corp of the scene.

"It’s only been up for a few months but Jeff ripped it to bits."

Horn was equally pleased with his efforts.

"I was very happy to break this bag! It did take a beating and had enough," he said in a Facebook post with the video. 

"I've still got another hard session of sparring tomorrow but Friday I start tapering down...a week out from the fight."

The River City Rumble goes down at Suncorp Stadium on Friday 30 November.
