BMX riders are forever pushing the boundaries so that no terrain or structure is off limits.

And a stunning new video of Scottish stunt rider Danny MacAskill tackling the roofs and ledges of building in the Canary Islands highlights just how inventive and skilful the world's best can be.

With a Go-Pro camera mounted on his helmet, MacAskill takes viewers on a vertigo-inducing ride on Gran Canaria in a mix of parkour and BMX.

Balancing on 10cm-wide ledges, backflipping off roofs and wheel hopping on and off walls, the 29-year-old makes roads redundant as he works his way across all manner of homes and buidings on the mountainous island.

The footage eventually ends with MacAskill launching himself from a ramp off a 20m cliff before front-slipping his way straight into the ocean below.

Talk about an impressive way to hit the surf.
