'Childhood dream come true': The huge celebrity who reached out to latest Aussie WNBA star

The latest Aussie to join the WNBA, Georgia Amoore, has had a whirlwind 24 hours since the draft.
The Australian guard has felt love and support from all corners, including from singer Dannii Minogue and from former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.
Amoore revealed that the comment left on her post by the Aussie celebrity was the 'coolest thing ever'.

"They flew me out this morning and I've spent a couple of hours in Washington and now I'm just getting my feet back under me," Amoore told Nine's Today on Wednesday.
"I've felt the love, so many messages of support. Actually, Dannii Minogue commented on my post and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. My childhood dream come true. Definitely feeling the love."
Amoore revealed that Westbrook and his team actually designed her outfit for the draft.
"He and his team reached out to me in November and I sent him an idea and he went to work. He chose the fabric, he made me look really good and I felt so good and so confident," she said.
"On a night of a lot of uncertainty, that was one thing I was certain in with how I looked and how I felt and I felt blessed to have him in my corner."
The Washington Mystics selected Amoore as the sixth overall pick in the WNBA draft on Tuesday.
Amoore has been playing as a guard with the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAAW Division 1 and has established herself among the leading playmakers in college basketball.
The 24-year-old's selection is the highest an Australian has been picked in the WNBA draft since Liz Cambage was taken at pick two in 2011.
Standing at 168cm tall, Amoore is significantly shorter than many of her rivals but the Ballarat local has proven she is not afraid of the challenges she will soon be facing.
Amoore was the third player selected by the Mystics inside the top 10, with Notre Dame's Sonia Citron taken as pick three and USC's Kiki Iriafen taken pick four.
The Australian star played four seasons between 2020 and 2024 in the college division before moving to Kentucky for the 2025 season.
With Kentucky Amoore averaged 19.6 points and 6.9 assists per game while also recording a goal percentage of 42.3 per cent.
She also managed to hit double digits in all but one game with the Wildcats this season which saw her earn first-team All-SEC honours.
Amoore joined last year's No.1 pick Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Inoescu as the only D1 players to record over 2300 points and 800 assists in their college careers.
