Ben Simmons produces monster triple-double against the Detroit Pistons

Ben Simmons has sent a warning to the rest of the league with a monster triple-double performance in his Philadelphia 76ers' victory over the Detroit Pistons.

The 76ers proved they were too much for the Pistons with a commanding 125-109 victory.

The Aussie reminded everyone just why he's considered an NBA All Star, finishing the match with 16 points, a career-high 17 assists and 13 rebounds in his second triple-double of the season.

Philadelphia were hot from three-point range with eight of Simmons' 17 assists coming from down-town.

The 17 dimes from Simmons proved a huge help for the 76ers, accumulating a total of 42 points.

But today's performance will hold a special place in the heart of 7-year-old Auggie, who drove all the way from Cincinnati to Detroit.

The young kid stole the hearts of fans with an adorable sign stating, "all I want for Christmas is to meet Ben Simmons".

Simmons spoke after the game and admitted he'd want that wish to come true if he was a kid.

The 23-year-old declared it's a "special thing" to see fans wearing his jersey as he made a Christmas miracle come to life for the youngster.

"If I was a little kid, and that was my wish, I would definitely want somebody to make that happen," Simmons said.

"I saw him up there with my jersey on.

"It's a special thing to have somebody wearing your jersey, so a lot of love for all my fans."
