Ben Simmons' hopes of leading Louisiana State University to college basketball's prestigious NCAA Tournament remain alive.
LSU beat Tennessee 84-75 in Friday's (Saturday AEDT) Southeastern Conference Tournament quarter-final game in Nashville, with the Australian teenager scoring 15 points and eight rebounds after getting into early foul trouble and sitting out most of the first half.

LSU must beat Texas A&M on Saturday (Sunday AEDT) and then win the SEC Tournament final on Sunday (Monday AEDT) to ensure a place in next week's elite 68-team knockout NCAA Tournament.
