New York Knicks star floors macot

He's public enemy number one of NBA mascots across the US.

And after taking down Wizards, Hawks and Grizzly Bears, now New York Knicks giant Robin Lopez can now add a dinosaur to his list.

The serial mascot abuser was up to his old tricks this week when his side clashed with the Toronto Raptors.

The Raptor took to the court to compile a mock list of its favourite Lopez celebrities – headed of course by J-Lo – and predictably prodding the beat backfired.

With the Raptor standing at the sign, the wild-haired Knicks centre strode up, grabbed the placard and smashed it over the mascot's head, knocking it to the floor.

Lopez then walked away suitably pleased with the result.

Of course, Lopez revels in playing the villain with a litany of attacks on NBA mascots over the years, including an incident in March when he ran and pushed over the Raptor.

The 27-year-old has openly waged war on mascot, once proclaiming to be "on a mission from God" to extinguish the league of all affable in-arena entertainers.

And if this latest incident is anything to go – despite the obvious staged theatrics – Lopez is well on the way to achieving his goal.
