'This is what the world has gotten to': NBA team booed for refusing to shoot after record scoring night
The Indiana Pacers on Friday set the record for most points scored in an NBA game this season, dropping 162 on the lowly Washington Wizards.
However, it was a scoreless final minute of the game that drew the ire of those in attendance in Washington.
The Pacers elected to simply dribble out the shot clock, taking the turnover and handing the ball back to the Wizards as the crowd expressed their displeasure.

It is customary in NBA games to dribble out the final seconds once the shot clock is turned off if the game is in doubt, but doing so for the full final minute is unusual.
The parochial Washington commentary team didn't know how to react to the situation.
"This is what the world has gotten to ... they're booing because the Pacers aren't trying to score more. Everybody's got a perspective!"
The Pacers set a franchise record of 24 three pointers made, with Aussie guard Johnny Furphy contributing one of those in the final moments.
They had nine players score double digits in the blowout win.
It's the most points scored in a game since February of 2023, where the Clippers and the Kings fought out an incredible 176-175 overtime classic.
They sit fourth in the Eastern Conference with 43 wins, while the Wizards sit last on just 16 wins.
