NBA fan wins big with half-court shot

A Phoenix Suns fan has sunk a half-court shot during half-time at an NBA game to win US$77,777 (A$84,000).

Tim Boven took home the prize after making the miracle shot during the Suns' clash with the New York Knicks.

The 28-year-old was able to choose whether to attempt a free throw for US$777 (A$840), a three-pointer for US$7,777 (A$8,400) or the half-court shot for US$77,777 (A$84,000).

After electing to try his luck from the half-way line, he made the shot and was subsequently mobbed by Suns players in celebration.
