'Shut the f*** up': Dennis Rodman slams Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid for comments on Michael Jordan's legacy
NBA legend Dennis Rodman has blasted Philadelphia 76er’s star Joel Embiid for his very public proclamation surrounding Michael Jordan’s legacy.
Last week, Embiid made an appearance on popular NBA podcast The Ringer and offered up his highly controversial sentiment that Hall of Fame centre Wilt Chamberlain was the real NBA GOAT, and not Jordan.
“He is not the G.O.A.T,” Embiid said of Jordan.
“To me, you got Wilt Chamberlain. He’s got all the records, and no one is ever gonna beat them. I don’t see anyone ever getting 100 points in a game. That’s it, he’s the G.O.A.T.”

That sent Rodman, who played alongside Jordan in his 96’-98’ championship Chicago Bulls, off the edge as he clapped back at Embiid in defence of his former teammate.
“Joel Embiid, you doing a great job for your little island or country where you from, man,” he told a TMZ.
“Shut the f*** up. Go do your goddamn job and do Philly proud. That’s the one thing they need is a championship.”
Chamberlain still holds the record for the most points scored in a game, an unbelievable 100-point display that has been immortalised in NBA history. And, while Jordan is still widely considered to sit atop the NBA throne, a host of stars hold stats that top the six-time NBA champion's.

Most recently Tiger Woods added his voice to the recurring debate when he suggested LeBron James should hold the NBA GOAT title.
“What LeBron has done for, what, 15 seasons now is just remarkable because it’s that type of longevity, and to be able to be up for that long a period of time, and to be able to adjust…and still be that talented,” Woods said in late 2018.
“If you look at MJ, he was a prolific scorer and played defence like no other.
“But LeBron is different. He’s like a hybrid of MJ and Magic (Johnson), which is so different. He’s bringing up the ball a lot. MJ never really did that.”
