The Perth Wildcats have received some much-needed good news on the injury front, with star centre Matt Knight cleared of serious damage to his troublesome left shoulder.

Knight re-injured his shoulder during last week's 83-72 loss to the Kings in Sydney.

It's the same shoulder that popped out several times last season and eventually required surgery.

The 31-year-old underwent a CT scan on Monday, and was cleared of serious damage over the latest incident.

He will be rested for another 24 hours before further testing is conducted.

It remains unclear whether he'll be available to take on the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday.

Knight missed the start of the NBL season after injuring his right shoulder during a mishap while lifting weights.

Skipper Damian Martin is set to miss a further two months because of a serious knee injury.

The Wildcats sit in third spot on the table with a 6-4 record.
