Hawks, 36ers escape bans ahead of decider

Adelaide and Illawarra's spiteful semi-finals series has prompted a reprimand from the NBL, but both sides have escaped suspensions ahead of Thursday's deciding third game.

The league's game review panel has considered two incidents in the series' opening two games, played at peak intensity after 36ers star Jerome Randle stoked the flames by calling his opponents "dirty".

The 36ers' import Eric Jacobsen has been issued a $375 fine for striking after he lashed out at Michael Holyfield late in their game one win last Thursday.

He will be free to play game three if he accepts an early guilty plea, with the strike considered intentional but low impact.

Star Hawks centre AJ Ogilvy, who pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds in game two, has received the same penalty after being charged with tripping as his side levelled the series.

The winner of Thursday's clash in Adelaide will meet Perth Wildcats in the best-of-five game grand final series starting February 27.
