Maker hits first NBA baskets for Bucks
Australian basketballer Thon Maker made the most of just his second appearance in the NBA by knocking down a pair of three-pointers for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The 19-year-old was was the 10th pick in this year’s NBA Draft, made a brief cameo at the end of his side’s comfortable win over Indiana.
In a little over a minute of court time, the 2.16m power forward hit a pair of shots from behind the arc to cap off a 125-107 victory.
Maker, who was drafted despite not attending a US college, is a project player who is several years away from reaching his potential.
But after what he showed in his brief spell today, there is plenty to work with.
Australian basketball fans are all hoping Maker, Dante Exum and No.1 draft pick Ben Simmons can be mainstays of the Boomers program for the next 15 years.
