Curry breaks NBA three-pointer record with 13 in one match

Powered by

When Stephen Curry’s name starts going viral again you know something big has happened.

That was certainly true when Curry hit a NBA-record 13 three-pointers as his Golden State Warriors beat the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday (Australian time).

That’s 39 points in three point baskets alone. Amazing stuff, you would think.

But a quick look at the NBA records for most threes in a game shows that it shouldn’t actually be that much of a surprise.

Curry (along with Kobe Bryant and Donyell Marshall) is one of three players to have 12 three-pointers in a game. He has also twice hit 11 in a match from behind the arc and on three occasions finished a game with 10 threes.

Add to that the back-to-back NBA MVP awards and the 2015 NBA Championship. Yep, he sure can play.
