Distracted woman gets painful shock

An NBA fan has been given a painful reminder to never turn away from the action after copping a painful blow to the face.

In footage captured from the match between Charlotte and Sacramento, Hornets star Lance Stephenson tried to find an outside shooter with a quick pass.

However, the Sacramento defender was on his toes and was able to get a hand to the ball, deflecting it up and into the crowd – directly into the path of the unsuspecting woman.

The woman, who has yet to be identified, is sitting a couple of rows from the floor and is engrossed in her companion's phone when the ball smacks her in the face, cracking her head back and sending her reading glasses flying.

The extremely painful hit left the woman clutching her face and her friends checking on her condition.

It is unknown whether she needed medical attention after the blow, but if she were a Hornets' fan, the injuries would only be another reminder of a painful night as the home side fell 113-106.
