Boomers a little bit dirty: Paul George

The Australian men's basketball team "has a knack for being a little bit dirty" according to American small forward Paul George.

The Boomers pushed the star-studded US line up all the way in the Americans' 98-88 win but there were some underhanded tactics according to three-time NBA All Star.

"We knew we were going to get their best, George said. "It was an adjustment for us. The game kind of got out of hand early with the physical play.

"We knew that coming in - this team has a knack for being a little dirty."

George said his team was forced to lift physically to ensure the result but felt his side didn't get the rub of the green when they turned up the heat with a bit of push and shove.

"I thought the second half we did a good job of just matching them," George said.

"We were doing the same stuff they were doing and we got hacked for it. We're fine playing physical, that's our game in the NBA, but if they going to allow us to play that way they got to play it both ways."
